The Comparative Decomposition Error in Classifying the Fiction of Francisco M. Martinez
Abstract
A comparative-literature article defining the comparative decomposition error: the misclassification that occurs when accurate comparisons of isolated elements replace analysis of the governing architecture of the whole. It argues that established genres and writers remain useful coordinates but cannot substitute for the operative structures of Mythotechnic Fiction and Meta-Mythic Delphic Fiction.
