In Eden, people die fast and quietly. No bruises. No struggle. Just a throat destroyed from the inside, as if something detonates where breath becomes voice.

Anne is an analyst who survives by distance. Patterns. Systems. Clean language. Then a cluster of “Unexplained Deaths” hits her screen, all with the same internal signature and the same item listed like an afterthought in the evidence logs: a small, silver vial.

One drop is enough to open a doorway in the mind. Enough to make Anne stop watching and start chasing. But the euphoria is a delivery system, and what it plants inside her does not behave like a drug. It behaves like a hive.

As Eden’s nightlife district swallows more victims, Anne follows the chain upward into private rooms, controlled rituals, and the corporate shadow she thought she understood: Genentechnology. Now the case is not something she studies.
