Collin Lazarus bought the machine that replaced him.

In 2048, he was a mid-level Genentech data analyst with a dying marriage, a beautiful wife named Matilda, and one final stupid hope: that forbidden technology could repair what love could not. Instead, the ARES-12 breeding unit became the perfect replacement. His wife’s body accepted the machine. His home collapsed. His name was erased. His life was processed as waste.

Now he is Kael.

Exiled to the Garbage Planet, he survives beneath a red sky of rust storms, dead suns, broken spacecraft, and mountains of discarded machines. He patches his shelter with scrap. He talks to the wind. He clings to dead trinkets like proof that somebody, somewhere, once existed.

But the Garbage Planet is not a landfill. It is the universe’s repair layer.

Every failed body, broken machine, obsolete god, discarded species, and ruined memory ends up there. Beneath its crust, bio-mechanical veins still pulse. In its distance, the Whispering Scaffolds call through the dust. In its depths, the Loom-Mother waits.

When Kael discovers the Ignition Core, the first tool of the Magician, he begins a transformation he hates and needs. To survive the Pale Redactors, the Static Sentinels, the Sea of Severed Limbs, and the Void beneath his own soul, he must become what destroyed him.

Not a wizard. Not a hero. A repair organism.
